World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to raise the item level of equippable weapons and armor. This increases the stats and sometimes adds buffs or rerolls on an affix.
It is important to remember that upgrading your magic and common gear isn't always worth it. Unique and rare equipment will quickly surpass modernized equipment and magic.
Cost
When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to do so. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level as well as the upgrade type chosen. Upgrades to weapons are generally less expensive than upgrades to armor since weapons have less requirements. The amount of Gold required for upgrading an item increases as the item is upgraded.
A newly upgraded item will also have increased stats, which can boost its performance in many ways. This could mean increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. An upgraded item may also add additional benefits to the unit it's equipped with. upgrade item are able to increase the overall strength of a unit or unit, and can have a significant impact on the gameplay.
The NPC for upgrading items can be located in the game. Typically NPCs can be found in major cities or questing spots. Players can also locate item upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, and by talking to the NPCs in their garrisons for their faction.
The system of upgrading items in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the level of armor, weapons, and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the appropriate currency, players must visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Requirements
The process of upgrading equippable items like weapons, armor and trinkets is to increase the item level. This can increase their stats, making them more powerful in battle. Time

Take advantage of the benefits
The upgrading of items grants players currency and a range of items. Each upgrade also has a chance of granting an unspecified stat bonus. Certain upgrade components can be equipped with additional cosmetic effects. Players can purchase upgrade components through crafting, buying from vendors, or at the Trading Post, looting, or obtaining an incentive. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs that are positioned on tools for gathering can be swapped freely.
The player can transform an item into another upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button a reroll arrow. This will change the layout of the item window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced with one of the level 1 items. Rerolled items will not retain their level, nor the resources used to upgrade it.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality.
